Our equipment
The fleet consists of 6 recent hot air balloons.
Montgolfière et Châteaux has six recent balloons ranging from 3,000 to 7,000 cubic meters in size, which can accommodate between two and ten passengers, up to a total of 40 people. One basket is reserved for private flights, while the others carry between four and ten passengers.
Our hot air balloons combine traditional craftsmanship with modern technology, using certified aeronautical materials. Each balloon is inspected by an approved workshop every 100 flight hours or at least once a year.
Our vehicles have two functions
Our vehicles are Land Rover Defender 4x4s and they have two functions: transporting passengers and towing trailers carrying hot air balloons. They are the best suited to our business; powerful and capable of fetching balloons from the most inaccessible places, driving them requires an E license and a great deal of skill on the part of the drivers to avoid getting stuck in the fields. Nevertheless, they are comfortable vehicles. Carefully maintained, they guarantee a successful service with a touch of adventure.
Launch pads
Our takeoff platforms are located at the four cardinal points and in the center of the valley, ensuring a flight over the most remarkable sites regardless of the prevailing wind direction.
A hot air balloon is essentially a bubble of air suspended in the air, drifting with the wind. It is therefore the wind and the wind alone that determines our trajectory. That is why we choose the most suitable take-off location at the last minute, to give you the best possible view of the Valley of Castles.
