Château de Beynac

Built in the 12th century, this castle is one of the best preserved and most famous in the Périgord region. Perched 150 meters above the Dordogne River on a limestone cliff, it served as a French stronghold during the Hundred Years’ War against the English-held Château de Castelnaud, with the Dordogne serving as the border between France and England.
